Chief Minister Punjab has been pleased to announce another historic initiative for the brilliant students in Punjab “HONHAAR UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM”. She strongly believe, Higher Education is a right which shall not be denied to meritorious students due to their inability to afford it. Government of the Punjab will bear cost of their Undergraduate Degree Program in 68 selected disciplines across all 50 Public Sector Universities, 16 Medical Colleges, 131 Graduate Colleges of HED as well as High Ranked Universities like @ LUMS, @ FAST National University,@ COMSATS, @Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute (GIKI), @ NUST and 7 other leading Private Sector Universities in Punjab. Each year 30,000 scholarships will be offered for which this year alone Government will invest over PKR 7 billion rupees. The Honhaar Scholarship Program shall cover more than 120,000 students in next 04 years and overall investment of more than PKR 130 billion in 08 years. Government of the Punjab considers this an investment rather than an expense for promoting equity and excess to Higher Education for brilliant but deserving young students.
